Adonai gives strength to His people. Adonai blesses His people with shalom. (Psalm 29:11). As the world adjusts to the new normal this global pandemic has forced upon us all, Jewish Voice’s mission continues: proclaiming the Gospel to the Jew first, growing the Messianic Jewish community, and engaging the Church concerning Israel and the Jewish people.

For nine weeks this past spring, as the coronavirus upended the world with fear, stay-at-home mandates, financial loss and isolation, we turned to Scripture for the hope we each need to endure rough times. The world is opening back up at last after the global pandemic. People are emerging to resume life, perhaps somewhat timidly, and wondering how we will fare as things work their way back to “normal” – whatever that will look like now. We still need God’s hope – every day.

“Yeshua spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will no longer walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” —John 8:12

“As long as in the heart within, the Jewish soul yearns . . . our hope is not yet lost – the hope that is 2,000 years old, to be a free nation in our own land.”

Prayer is essential to the effectiveness of every Jewish Voice Outreach. Obstacles of all sizes threaten to impede the work we do around the world, especially in remote locations where we conduct Medical Clinics.

Our last Outreaches of 2018 were in Alamata and Jijiga, Ethiopia. Although this had already been an incredible year of ministry impact, during our time there, we experienced something amazing … unlike anything we’d ever seen before. This was the first time in several years that we did back-to-back Outreaches. It began with a full week of Medical Clinic services in Alamata in the North, in what’s called the Tigray region. There is a power struggle there involving a minority tribe that has held control for more than two decades. This made things a little tumultuous at first, but the Lord provided an open door of ministry for us to be in Alamata.

JVMI: You were asked to help Jewish Voice build support in Korea. What was appealing to you about this undertaking? Why were you particularly attracted to ministry reaching the Jewish people?

The atmosphere was charged with a palpable eagerness just before the doors opened at our recent clinic in Mudanda, Zimbabwe.
