Yeshua and Bible Prophecy

April 24, 2015

shutterstock_81778744, Bible prophecy, Yeshua “But this is so the Scriptures would be fulfilled” (Mark 14:49 TLV).

Yeshua (Jesus) spoke these words to the band of people sent by the religious leaders into the Garden of Gethsemane to arrest Him.

Bible prophecy conveys two very different portrayals of the Messiah. One is of a suffering servant and another of a victorious king. This has led many Jewish People to believe there are two Messiahs. However, Yeshua’s promises to return for His followers show us that rather than two Messiahs, Bible prophecy describes two appearances of one Messiah, first the Servant and later the Victor.

Yeshua fulfills Bible prophecy against staggering odds

There are well over 300 Bible prophecies about the Messiah. Yeshua has fulfilled all of the prophecies pertaining to the Messiah’s first coming. The mathematical odds that one man would fulfill even eight of these prophecies is one in 10^17. That’s the number 10 with 17 zeroes after it!

Here are just a few of prophecies that Yeshua fulfilled in the last 24 hours of His life.

The Messiah would:

be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver

(Zechariah 11:12-13, Matthew 26:15)

be rejected by man

(Isaiah 53:3, Mark 14:50, Matthew 26:56; 26:69-75)

be silent before His accusers

(Isaiah 53:7, Matthew 27:12-14)

be spat upon

(Isaiah 50:6, Matthew 26:67)

be afflicted and struck without regard

(Isaiah 53:4b, Matthew 26:67-68)

have his garments divided and lots cast for His clothing

(Psalm 22:18, John 19:23-24)

suffer a violent death

(Zechariah 13:7, Matthew 27:35)

be forsaken by God for our sin                   .

(Psalm 22:1, Matthew 27:46)

bear the sin of the world

(Isaiah 53:4a, II Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24)

shed His blood for atonement for sin

(Isaiah 52:15, Revelation 1:5  )

satisfy God with His sacrifice

(Isaiah 53:11, John 12:27)
