The Bible. It is the Word of God, His communication to us. It is His arm extended to the heart of man offering us life, eternal life.
The Bible was given to the Jewish People to record and preserve. Scribes meticulously copied the words onto scrolls of parchment. Theirs was an incredibly holy work. So careful were they, and so respectful of God’s words to man, that no error in transcription was tolerated.
Given to the Jews and written from the context of a Jewish perspective, the Bible is filled with Jewish culture. However, the rich meaning of the Bible’s “Jewishness” is often lost or hidden in most of the Bibles we read today. That’s what this week’s guest on “Jewish Voice with Jonathan Bernis” set out to correct. Daniah Greenberg put together a team of 70 Messianic Jews, including 32 Ph.D. scholars, to create the new Tree of Life Version and the Messianic Jewish Family Bible. Messianic Judaism has a new resource for understanding God’s Word and the Jewish roots of the Bible.

Translated directly from the original Greek and Hebrew texts, it has been vetted by some of the best and brightest Messianic theologians and scholars. It was important to the translation team to create a Bible that would serve all generations, from children to adults. The Messianic Jewish Family Bible does that. This Bible also introduces important Hebrew words that clarify scriptural meaning, restores books to their original, chronological order, and restores names to their original Hebrew. It has footnotes identifying Messianic prophecies and includes study guides written by Jonathan Bernis.
