Palestinian Activist Aims to 'Start an Intifada Against Israel in the US' A Palestinian activist has embarked on a five-week speaking tour of the United States in hopes of bolstering the growing Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. Bassem Tamimi is the father of the 12-year-old boy featured in a viral video promoted by anti-Israel organizations that’s circulated widely on social media.

As Tamimi told The Times of Israel, “When we are able to get a video like this, we can use it to great effect,” he said. “When enough people here see these videos and hear our stories, it can start a kind of intifada against Israel in the United States.”
